I recently burned a photo DVD on my iMac using all JPG photos.

This plays fine on both my Mac and my daughters Windoz machines but will
not play on the CD/DVD players on my home entertainment system.

Can anyone give me info about why this DVD is incompatable  on a
commercial DVD player.

TIA

Not all DVD players support "photo" or data DVDs. Read the
documentation that came with the DVD player for a list of supported
media.

Some DVD players are also fussy about what kinds of JPEG files they'll
support -- number of megapixels, "progressive" encoding, etc.  Again,
the manual should say what it does and does not support.

Also, some DVD players will play -DVD and +DVD. Some will only play one
or the other.
