Hi Leute,

ich habe hier überall das gleiche Problem.

Zwei externe Firewire Platten.

Frust.

Grüße
Steffen

For the non-German speakers:

Hi folks,
I have encountered this same problem everywhere.

Two external FireWire disks. 2 computers (iMac G5 and iBook G4), and
things were no different with the iMac G3 I no longer have.

I can use the disks without problems via USB.

Not with FireWire 400. The computers cannot exchange data directly
(Target Mode) without problems, either.

An I/O error (-36) occurs, in particular with large files.

I recently read in MacUp that in this case you should make the files
smaller. Ha ha, I am supposed to chop up Keynote.

So far I have just used USB, but now my brand new Taurus RAID drive is
having the same problems. But only with FireWire.

Is anyone familiar with these problems?

I returned the older drive and it came back with the same problem.
Frustrating!
