Just load some MP3 files on it.  From
<http://www.apple.com/ca/ipodnano/specs.html>

"Audio formats supported: AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from
iTunes Store), MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3,
and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV"

You didn't say without using iTunes.  You said "Without fuc..ing
iTunes".  Most people don't consider "fuc..ing" to be "using".

Well, some people do, but that gets into the whole mess that is Western
sexual politics, and it really doesn't have anything to do with iPods
or iTunes.
