I just got a MacBook Pro.
My old system is a dual 1.25 G4, FW-800 with 4 internal hds
and 6 external fw hds full of mostly mp3s. And i still have my
old 400 MHz G4.
I plan to sell my fw-800 and use the old 400 mhz g4 as a server
so i can access all my media when i m out.
I'll back up my MBP to an external fw hd.
Does this plan make sense?
Any suggestions on setting up the server?
I've had a mac since the beginning and i'm ok with some tech
stuff but setting up servers and wireless networking are new
to me.
Also, i have always left my mac on 24/7.
Is there any problem with just sleeping the MBP instead of
shutting it down over night?
Sources for learning about this would be appreciated.
Please tell me what you think.
Thanks
ed

Yes, it makes just as much sense as it did when you posted the same
thing two days ago. Why are you starting a new thread instead of
continuing that one?
