Maxtor OneTouch backup software

I have a Maxtor One-Touch III external drive, and I use the MaxBack
software that came with it. As the backup progresses, I see the message
"error copying file" for certain files (but it continues to back up).
When I check those files on the Maxtor, after the backup is finished,
those files are there and they seem perfectly fine. I haven't been able
to find anything in the Help menu for the software, and googling for
information yields nothing so far. Has anyone here noticed this
"problem" when using MaxBack (or other backup software)?

I can't say about this software but I know it's a common issue during
backup.  The software usually cannot backup files that are open.

You might try quitting all applications prior to running a backup.  If
nothing else, just to see if the number of troublesome files is reduced.
You probably won't be able to backup ALL files as some are in use just
because you are logged in as a user.

I'm pretty sure I quit all applications before I backup. I definitely do
go away and do something else while backing up. I'll make sure to quit
everything next time. Thanks.
