I see only Windows microphones -- looking for the type that are long

You need to determine what model Mac and whether you need a mac
plainTalk Mic or a standard one.
PlainTalk mics have an extra-long phone plug and have a built in
pre-amp.
Older Mac models may need this.
As long as it is a newer one (like within the last couple of years or
so) a standard mic should work.

Any USB microphone should work, such as

Most
standard microphones would need a pre-amp, since Macs with audio input
need line-level. You could use the iMic

with a standard microphone, but the USB microphone is neater. It is
probably low enough power to work from a keyboard USB port.
