I have used a Bluetooth MM and also a Logitech BT Mouse.  I have not
observed any jerky motion with either of them.

I am referring to the cursor movement. I wasn't too clear in the first
message.

That's what I assumed you meant.

I'm sure most would but I wanted to be clear, I didn't mean to be insult
anyone. Which mouse do you prefer, MM or logitech? I have used Macally
BTMouseJr and it is very jerky. I also have a Anycom BTM100 and it works well
but is too small. pepe

I use the MM at home and the Logitech at work.  The Logitech is a bit
smaller and more convenient to carry around, but the I like the scroll
button on the MM.

Just to add a second opinion, the only difference I've found between
the wired and the Bluetooth MightyMouse is the weight. As far as
performance goes, they behave equally; no jittery, stuttery, staggery,
motion at all with the wireless MightyMouse. I use the BT version with
a first-generation MacBook Pro and the wired version with an Intel
CoreDuo iMac. But the Bt version is really damned heavy!

Have you tried running it on a single battery?

Says so in the manual.  Haven't tried it myself.  But it makes me
wonder why they couldn't have made it use AAA batteries.

I have a MM question, has anyone figured out how to OPEN up the MM,
so as to be able to restore the function of the Little Ball in
ALL directions.  Mine now will only operate in "Down", "Right",
and "Left", but not "Up".  I have tried everything to correct
this, but haven't been successful, with anything externally
applied.

Bruce,

There's no good way to open the MM. The only soluton I've found to fix
the track ball is to press it down and blast compressed air into ot as
best you can. The stuff that comes in a can works for me.

How to clean your Mighty Mouse

Although your Mighty Mouse never needs to be fed or watered, you may
occasionally find that you need to clean it.

If your Mighty Mouse is covered in fingerprints or its surface has
become soiled, it can be gently wiped with a clean lint-free cloth. If
necessary, moisten the cloth using only water, making sure not to
oversaturate it. Be aware that the mouse contains electronic components
that may be damaged if water drips from the cloth into the mouse via
the seam around the scroll ball or around its underside.

The same procedure can be used to clean the scroll ball on your Mighty
Mouse if it has become discolored or dirty. Use a clean lint-free cloth
lightly moistened with water. Wipe the ball and the surrounding area,
making sure to rotate the ball itself to ensure complete coverage. If
the scrolling feels rough or if the scroll ball isn't scrolling up,
down, or side-to-side, hold the mouse upside-down and roll the ball
vigorously while cleaning it to help dislodge any particles that may
have collected on the internal hardware.

When mine does that I simply invert the mouse, push down hard on the
scroll ball, and roll it back and forth a few times. Whatever was
caught in there gets rubbed off.

But now I finally got around to it.  Works like a charm.

It is heavy. I have resorted to running it on Energizer e Lithium AAs,
which are much lighter than any other kind of battery. Expensive, but
they do seem to last longer than other batteries. Unfortunately, they
are not rechargeable.
