I have an old Olympus ES-10 SCSI film scanner that served me well with a
SCSI-equipped Mac running OS 9 and Photoshop 4.

My current Mac is an iBook G4 that runs OS X 10.4 and will not boot into OS 9.

Do I have any hope of using this scanner through a FireWire SCSI adapter while
in Classic mode?

I am using a Ratoc FW-to-SCSI adapter with a Minolta film scanner under OS
X.
While the manual does not seem to mention it, I think Classic mode might
work as well.

There are two drawbacks:

- This adapter is out of production, so you have to look for a used one or
dig through old shelves.

- These are moderately expensive (100 EUR). With a low-end scanner like the
ES-10, it might make more sense to switch to a used USB-connected Minolta
DImage Scan Dual 2 or higher.

Best regards,
Ville
