Desperate for help with choosing webcam

Desperate for help with choosing webcam
I have a friend I wish to purchase a webcam for I have no idea what this
pc can handle as I am not familiar with macs myself :( Sorry.

TIA for any help or advice you may have.

I recommend a Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000. Works with PC and Mac and produces
quite a good picture.

Use a firewire DVcam.  Way better optics, optical zoom, total control,
way better light sensitivity.  If the mechanics doesn't work it
shouldn't cost more than $25 - $50.  All you need is the AC adapter.  
If everything works, count on $100-$150 for a basic one. About the
same as you would pay for a used iSight.
