The Samsung camera won't work, as far as I know, but you really
shouldn't have any problem getting the JVC camera to work, at least as
far as the OS is concerned. As long as the Firewire connection is OK,
it should work with iChat, Quicktime, etc. I don't know about Skype. I
have an old Canon Optura Pi with a broken tape mechanism that is
currently serving as a very bulky, inconvenient webcam, but it works
with just about everything.

I should add that, because the Canon is so inconvenient, I've also been
thinking of something more like an iSight to use with my iMac G5. So if
you find something, let us know.
There's been some speculation that Apple may announce a replacement for
the iSight at Macworld next week.

Thanks for the response.
I tried my MiniDV camcorder witha firewire cable but without a tape in
it last night and it worked as a webcam, but not with Skype (cross
platfrom anyway). So I'm still hunting.
I keep an ear to the ground durning the expo.
Cheers
