MacBook touchpad issue

Had this MacBook about four days and several times the keyboard sticks
and sometimes freezes, takes 20-30 seconds or more to unstick it. Never
had this problem with my TBook. If it keeps up I'll ask for my money
back. Is this a common problem on this mode? Fixes?

The subject says "touchpad", while the text above says "keyboard".  So
I'm not sure what you're referring to.

The trackpad on my MacBook Pro is occasionally non-responsive, but it's
more like 2-3 seconds, not 20-30.  I'd rather it didn't do this -- my
12" PowerBook never did --  but I don't consider it a big deal.

So it's just a cheap piece of crap issue? Not used to having such
issues on a Mac.

I've had two Mac notebooks, a Wallstreet G3 Powerbook, and an iBook G4.

The Wallstreet never had a problem with the touchpad, always works fine.

The iBook touch pad occasionally freezes. I called Apple tech support a
couple of times on it, tried various things. It does this occasionally,
usually not long enough or often enough to be a big problem.

Trouble with intermittent anomalies, they are hard to troubleshoot.

If your MacBook is doing it enough to cause trouble, give Apple a call
and see what can be done. If you've had it only a few days, you still
have free telephone techsupport.

It's annoying enough that if this is happening to a lot of MacBooks,
they should do a warning or re-call. I've owned several Macs over the
years, not looking to bash the company. But it is an annoyance and it
souinds like it is, if not endemic, then not uncommon.

Trackpads are at best a necessary evil. Return the macbook for another.
if they dont let you because your 10 days is up, buy an external mouse.
Mini Bluetooth mouse from logitech or kensington work fabulously for
that lengthy aeroplane ride, and when you are done you can just slip
the lil guy into your pocket.

1. How much RAM have you got?

2. Check your Activity Monitor for excessive CPU usage by some app or
process.

3. Login to another User account. Does it do it there?
