The Mac Pro was released in August, with speeds up to 3 GHz and two
dual-core Xeon processors. Since then, Intel have released a quad core
Xeon, so it is quite likely that Apple will update the Mac Pro in the
near future to offer this processor as a configure to order option.

They might do a "trickle down" and bump the specs at each price point,
or just add the new processor as an even more expensive option at the
top end.

When this happens is a matter for speculation.

I'd expect to see a more extensive revision of the Mac Pro somewhere
between January and May next year, based on historical patterns of how
often Apple revamps each series.

Thank you David...Since I think the Mac Pro with  3 GHz and two
dual-core Xeon processors will be plenty fast for what I want and the
update to the  MP will also have Xeon processors I will order soon.
Thanks again...john
