Wireless Mighty Mouse question

Why does the wireless Mighty Mouse require a wired keyboard to set up?

My Mac already has a Bluetooth keyboard and (non-mighty) mouse. The
computer has internal Bluetooth - it came with them. They work right out
of the box - no setup necessary. Why couldn't I use them to set up the
mighty mouse?

No drivers and configuration software for the MightyMouse (Bluetooth)
perhaps?

You can still install that software even with a wireless keyboard and
(non-mighty) mouse.

Apparently this is literally true; rumors that a wired keyboard and
mouse would be required, apparently aren't. At least it doesn't say
anything about this on Apple's web site.
