Recently got a G5 iMac with fitted AirPort, which is no use to me the
desktop.
Is it possible to remove the card and install it instead in my G4 iBook,
where it would be useful?
If so, is it somthing a non-techie could do?
Card in question is:
Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme
Wireless Card Locale: Worldwide
Wireless Card Firmware Version: 402.6 (3.90.34.0.p13)
Current Wireless Network: AirPort is currently turned off
TIA for any advice,
Rab

In theory, you should be able to do it.
Installing an Airport Extreme card in an iBook G4 is as easy as
removing the keyboard, and is fully explained and diagramed in
your iBook G4 owners manual. If you forgot where you placed the
owners manual, you can find a copy here:

Removing the Airport Extreme card should be the reverse of
installing it in the iMac G5. I have never looked inside of an
iMac G5, so I do not know what they are like, but here are some
Apple instructions for installing an Airport Extreme card in an
iMac G5 (hopefully the layout is the same for your iMac as these
instructions:

Apple has been moving away from the user-installable AirPort card
design. If the iMac is a recent model with built-in iSight, removing the
AirPort components would not be a "non-techie" task. Otherwise, see the
following Apple pages for do-it-yourself instructions:
