  Hi,

I want to change the default font and icon size on a Mac in order to
make it more readable and usable for an elderly person. As I'm new to
Mac I do not know where these options are located. Does anybody knows
that?

  Thanks and bye.

Go to the "Universal Access" pane of "System Preferences" and try the
"Zoom" function.

Wow, great! But the key modifiers are going to be hard to use for
that elderly person. Is it possible to use a more easy to use key
combination? Functions keys or so,ething like this.

Anyway what I was looking for is more something like what's
available in Windows: change the default font and icon size for all the
system. Not a temporary change like the zoom. Is there something like
this on the Mac?

  Thanks and bye.

That's in the Keyboard Shortcuts tab of the Keyboard preference pane.

It's only temporary in the sense that it can be turned off.

"Congurutulation!!!" - The subject line on some spam I received last night.
I have no idea what it means, but it's such a cool "word" (by which I mean
pronouncable sequence of letters) regardless.
