I have decided to buy one last PowerPC Mac before the Intel chips take
over. I prefer cathode ray tube to LCD displays; I do a lot of image
editing. I would like to hear some opinions about whether an eMac or a
Mini plus a new CRT monitor would be the best way to go.

I don't remember what the clock rate of an emac can be. The mini can go
up to 1.42 GHz, if I remember right. The emac may be faster.
If you don't like the monitor of the emac, you're stuck.
I have a 21" Sony CRT I could sell you. It came with a Sun workstation a
few years ago. Email me if you're interested. It does 1280x1024
resolution and lower.

Mini... hands down.
A) eMac's are ugly -- they look like an giant molar exhibit from
the Dental Museum.
B) When the monitor on the eMac goes wonky; throw the eMac away.
When the monitor on your Mini fails, get another one for $100 and
keep going.
I have found that video failures (inc. degradation, wiggling, etc...)
are the #1 reason I've had to scrap iMac's of all ages. I know no reason
to think eMac's will differ...
