Hi There,
The only 2 places I know to get Apple classroom training are from Apple
and Novaworks (both of which you arrange through Apple). I have been to
training at both sites and they are both very good. The classes run
around $1500-$2500 so they are not cheap, but they are quite
comprehensive and you get a voucher for a free exam. Also, as far as I
know these classes are software only, so if you are looking for only
hardware then you'll need the Applecare Technician Training, which you
do at your own pace at home. The ACT training is $299 and includes
training for Desktops and Laptops. The exams for certification are
extra.
In any case you should check out Apple's training (
http://www.apple.com/training/ ) site to see what certifications are
available.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

Thanks for the great information. I suppose you're a Mac techie and
work in the field too. Could you tell me what benefits you the most
in getting a tech job. Because I don't know if these training alone
would be good enough to land me a job as a Mac tech.
I think I'll do the OS/software part by myself by spending time on my
Mac. I don't have $2000 for a live training. I'll read books and
listen to some CBTs from lynda.com. I think that's doable. But the
hardware part is different. I have a G4 so that's gonna be all what I
play and know. I won't have hand-on experience on many many other Mac
stuff. Do you think the $299 ACT package will be sufficient for the
hardware training?
Thanks.
