No link to the video on the website now. Pity, I was not going to
upgrade my OS to run Apple's latest Quicktime version just to see the
show. The BBC offer WinMedPlayer and Realplayer streams.

You can view the keynote speech via Apple's web site. Its right on
Apple's main web site at http://www.apple.com

I know but that requires a recent version of QT..
Which is why I was hoping the BBC still had it, they offer alternative
streams which are no problem to update, no passwords etc.

I attended MWX in SF for a couple of days. Frankly, it was not worth the
effort, esp. since I live on the east coast. Compared to previous years,
this expo's exhibition area was at least half the area. There were very
few interesting exhibits this year and only a handful of areas on the
exhibits floor where one could sit down to see product demos. This year,
there wasn't even a developers' section.
I sat down in one of the few product demo areas in the exhibits area,
mainly just to take a quick breather, and I ended up being the only
person in the audience to watch a demo of a CAD application (which
turned out to be very interesting), but I was the only person in the
audience!
Most of the exhibitors were showing off products for the iPod. I think
this years Macworld Expo SF could have been more appropriately named
iPodworld Expo instead. As usual, admission to Steve Jobs' keynote was
also totally disorganized. A friend and I got in line 1 hour before it
started and we ended up watching it on a big screen TV in an overflow
area. IDG should sell reserved tickets. I don't know why they do not do
that, but it will be the last time I pay a dime to see Steve Jobs speak
at a Macworld Epxo, as I could have seen the same thing via streaming
video for free.
The only part of the sow I really enjoyed was the Adobe Breakfast. The
food was mediocre, but I learned a lot, which is why I attend these
events in the first place.
The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas the week before Macworld Expo
was far more interesting. I managed to snag some free tickets to CES for
some friends and me. This was our first CES show and it won't be our
last, but I doubt I will be at Macworld Expo again.
I am speaking as someone who has attended almost every north American
Macworld Expo for the past decade, so I have a good basis to compare
them.

You couldn't watch it live, FWIW.

True, but waiting to see Jobs' keynote speech a few hours or days later
would not have killed me.
