Do I NEED AirPort Express for AirTunes?

Can I use the Airport Extreme card in my Mac Mini to play iTunes songs
on speakers around my apartment without buying an Airport Express?  Or
are there special speakers that are WiFi equipped?  I'd presume there'd
have to be.  If such speakers exist, where can I get ratings for them?
Consumer reports?  (I also presume Bluetooth isn't powerful enough to
transfer large audio files.)

Also, is it possible to use iTunes as an alarm clock?  I know I can get
iCal to play iTunes songs as alerts, but I was wondering if there was
an alarm clock feature in the iTunes program that I just can't find?  I
certainly can't find such a feature in Date & Time.

Thanks,
Harryted

You can stream music to your amp/stereo/radio/home cinema with the
Airport Express. The Express has a mini-jack connector as well as an
optical sound outlet.
