I have laptop that i bought wireless adaptor card for. How do I use it
say at wifi cafe or somewhere. Just allow it to connect and go from
there or do I need some kind of access codes or such? The software
seems to ask for some codes of some sort.

Depends on the site. Some sites are unsecured, and you just connect. Some
require you to enter the correct code.

That site seems to be secured. You're not getting in without the code. You
_could_ hack the code, getting past WEP security isn't difficult and WPA
isn't that much harder, but the site may have taken other precautions. And,
besides, it's easier to either ask for access (if this is meant to be a
publicly accessible site) or to find an unsecured site.
