I have a GV 56K fax modem model A824 which uses adaptor D7500-04
< input 120VAC 60Hz 7W > and
< output DC 9V 400mA >
I don't know if they would be the same, but I imagine they're probably
not too different.

Thanks for responding.  However I'm somewha hesitant to use your info
because your modem is from a very different generation and Global
Village has changed ownership several times since my modem was
produced.  My device is a 14.4Kbps modem made in 1984.

Actually, mine was from around the time that Global Village was
changing to Boca Research down in Florida. I might even still have
another 56K fax/modem in its box somewhere in the garage. It still had
the manual and power supply, IIRC. If I can find it, would you be
interested in it for $25?

GeI found the specs.  It needs 6VDC.  Glad I didn't try 9V.  Thanks,
Gerry, for tyring to help.
