I tried to post this once already elsewhere, but I think the newsreader
ate the post (or the server did; I don't know. Anyway...
I have a G4/667 tower with 1 GB RAM. There are two, 256MB modules and
one 512. Today, after more than two years of running in this
configuration, I noticed that the 512 module is PC100, not PC133,
making all of the memory run as slower PC100. (I must have goofed when
I bought it, or else I was sold something as "compatible" with this
system -- well, it's compatible, yes, but not optimal.)
Is replacing this module with PC133 -- and allowing all the RAM to run
as PC133 -- likely to make a significant difference? I'm guessing not
for *most* apps and typical usage, but I'd like to hear if anyone has
been through that in the past.

You're not likely to notice just doing casual stuff.

Is the memory itself marked as PC100. or is that how it is showing up in
Apple System Profiler? In any case, the G4 does not step down to run at
100 MHz on the meory bus, so that module has been working at PC133 for
you the last two years anyways. At worst it has been functioning as 322
or 333 latency memory. Changing it would only get you a few percent
better performance at best, and that would depend on the other modules
also being 222 latency.
