I need help trying to pick a good KVM swith box which I intend to use
when I get my mini mac. I have a logitech mx1000 mouse that I want to
use on both computers. I heard that the IOgear micro have some problems
with emulator for mice and the logitech mx700 doesn't work properly. Any
suggestions on what brand should I pick. I am also planning to upgrade
to a digital display for which I may need a DVI port, is that right?

Thanks

If you can find a make of KVM switches that works with USB and KVM, I'd
REALLY like to know about it.

I have the Gefen DVI Switcher.  Works with my G5 and my Linux PC.  I
don't have an Apple monitor, but a Dell flat-screen.

I have a Belkin F1D104-USB that gives me four connections and switches
USB a treat - even scanners and such.

Rather, I *meant* to type "USB and DVI" rather than "USB and KVM".
Whoops.

If your monitor has only a DVI connector then your KVM switch needs DVI as
well. Usually monitors have DVI and VGA, so the DVI on the KVM is not that
essential. Very good KVM switches are available from Rose Electronics at
http://www.rosel.com/ or from Raritan at http://www.raritan.com/ . Both
companies provide enterprise level solutions, there are cheaper solutions
as well.

But you'll get a better picture if you use DVI.
