Can anyone help me with the itunes audio problems. Any song that i
play with itunes has a jittery (kinda skipping) output. I even tried
to just listen to the radio through itunes, but the problem still
remains. I even upgraded itunes from 4.5 to version 4.6 but no
improvement.
The same mp3s play fine with windows media player.
I tried playing a new CD and i get the same results. The CD plays on
Windows media player, but not on itunes.
Does anyone have any idea about whats wrong with itunes.
Please help. I just installed itunes yesterday and started having
problems with it within few hours. It worked fine for first couple
hours.
Thanks

As a guess, maybe the iTunes Preferences file is corrupted. You can quit
iTunes, trash the Preferences file, then launch iTunes. That might fix
the problem.
iTunes has 2 Preferences files, located in your user folder, under:
Library>>Preferences
named com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist and com.apple.iTunes.plist

I couldnt find the preference files. I am running iTunes on the
windows XP. I realized that if restart the computer the problems seems
to go away (closing and starting iTunes itself is not enough). But,
since i usually do not turn my computer off (put it in sleep mode) i
see the problem crawl back in a day or so. It seems like iTunes needs
to be refreshed every day or so.
The trashing of preferences file sounds like a promising idea but i
cant find it within the windows setup.
Any other ideas

I'd open a terminal window and stretch it out a little then run "top". I think
something is stuck spinning on your system and eating a lot of cpu.
