Your best bet is to do multiple Edit-Replace. If you are using Excel 2004 or
earlier, this can be done with VBA, or even AppleScript for the earlier and
current version.

We are using excel 2007, and we have about 100 words different words in
several files

Well then your best bet is to write, (or have written) a macro that will do
multiple replaces based on the list. Since you are using Excel 2007, your
best bet will be to post to a Windows Excel forum. This one is for Macintosh
Excel.
