To my surprise, I couldn't find the Pivot Chart feature on Excel for Mac... Is that possible? MS did not provide this basic feature in the Mac package?

Yep! It certainly is possible. Pivot charts are not available in Macintosh
Excel. (But, I'm not so certain about how basic it is.) If you need this
feature, the best way to express your needs is to use the Send feedback from
the Help menu.
