Having recently installed 2008 I keep getting caught out by 1904.

Please remind me how to set the default in the template to 1900 so all new
sheets are set to 1900.

For new workbooks:

Create a workbook with the number of sheets, formatting, and date system
you want. Save it *as a template* named "Workbook" (no quotes, no
extension) in the Excel Startup folder (by default:

  HD:Applications:Microsoft Office 2008:Office:Startup:Excel:

though you may instead use the Alternate Startup Folder set in
Preferences/General).

For new worksheets:

Create a workbook with a single sheet, with formatting, etc. you want
(date system is irrelevant -  it's a workbook level setting). Save it
*as a template* named "Sheet" (no quotes, no extension) in the Excel
Startup folder
