Does anyone know how to have the autofilter not affecting a specific column? i have an excel sheet that has autofilters on most of the columns but i need to manually enter text into a new column added.

AutoFilter just hides certain rows. You can easily turn it off from the
tools menu. To add data in adjacent columns, just enter it.

That's the thing it won't turn off in the tools menu!!! and it won't let me manually enter text it gives me an error message.

I eventually found a way around it on my PC at home.

Thanks anyway!

It *should* turn off in the Data/Filter  menu.
