Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

In word it's command end.
But in Excel, that is taking me to hundreds of blank rows past the last row of text. What should I do? Thanks

Look in Help. Topic: "Excel Keyboard Shortcuts", subtopic: "Keys for
moving and scrolling in a workbook or worksheet".

If the "Move to the edge of the current data region" shortcut takes you
beyond your data, check that you don't have space or other non-printing
characters in those cells

Is there a keyboard shortcut that will copy a selected set of formula-containing cells rightward across the rows to the end of data?

In general, it's better not to hijack a thread with a separate question
- start a new one instead.

But, since you did, use the same Help topic, and look in the "Keys for
entering data on a worksheet" subtopic for "Fill to Right"

Got it JE, thanks!

click in first cells then scroll to end of data
Then hold shift key while clicking in last cell

you can also do this if you want to select all the cells that have
information

Click in first cell then scroll down while holding down shift key to the
last row with Data. Then scroll sideways until last column is selected.
you now have all cells selected that have data

You can do a variation on the above. click in first cell at top left and
mouse to bottom left of you worksheet (last cell that has data). then
hold down shift and click in cell.

Phil:
the whole point of the question was not to have to scroll
Phillip Jones - 01 May 2008 19:34 GMT
the way excel is step the is not much way to now scroll and use the mouse.

if you want to select whole columns or rows whether they have data or not.

click in first column hold shift key down and hit tab until last column
you desire shows up.

or rows (data or not) click to far let at first rows desired then use
down arrow key while holding shift key down. About the only way you can
do with out use of the mouse.

For me personally I find keyboard shorts cuts awkward at best. And
complicated at worst . If I had remember keyboard shortcuts I'd spend
most of my time trying to remember the short cut and not doing the work
and giving myself a headache in the process. :-) Note this is me. Others
may think keyboard short cuts are the greatest thing since sliced bread.
:-) I don't.

mouse click scroll or move mouse to desired position, boom, boom; less
than two seconds and its done.

this post was about keyboard shortcuts, see the title of the post

Yes I understand . Perhaps instead of pointing out the best method. I
should have said there is no *good way* to do it with short cuts, that I
know of and left it at that.

And I'm pointing out that JE answered it fine and your wasting your time.
