I have office 2008. In excel the l/r arrow keys do not move one cell over. How can I change that?

Hi vsimone :)
The arrow keys should work for moving from cell to cell (and they do work
for me). And I can't find any setting that restricts that.
Do the arrow keys work for any other function within Excel (e.g. Moving
shapes or moving between series in a chart)?

If you are editing in a cell or the Formula Bar (Edit mode as indicated on
the Status Bar) the L/R Arrow keys move the insertion point within the
cell's content. Use Tab or Shift-Tab to finish editing & move either Right
or Left respectively at the same time. Once you're out of Edit Mode the
arrows will function for navigation.

Help... did any of you find an answer to your question? I have Office 2004 and cannot use my arrows keys to move from cell to cell.
Thanks

What happens instead? Does the whole sheet move around? If so, you
have scroll lock on.

How does one turn scroll lock off?

AFAICR, the most common way is CMD-F14, though F14, Opt-F14 or Shift-F14
may be necessary on some keyboards.

Hi. I'm new to Mac with Leopard operating system. I couldn't use the arrow keys to move around Excel. When I read the questions and answers here I tried my function keys to see if somehow I had scroll lock on - that's what it looked like. I found F14 - whether in conjunction with the arrow key or not - cleared the issue. All working fine now. Helen
