Hi!
I just upgraded to Leopard, and my Excel fails to open. I must force
quit it, since it is not responding. The version is 11.3.7, and I
tried to upgrade. But the updaters also freezes when looking for
programmes to upgrade. Som here I am, stuck with a nice operating
system and without the programs I need for my work. Word also went
into a hangup shortly after I desperately opened an Excel file with
Word. Anyone have a solution to this?

Hi Pilgrim,
I'm not aware of any Excel problems with Leopard, so let's start with the
routine kinds of solutions. Start at the top and work your way down:

But even before doing these I would run DiskWarrior and see what it has to
say about things.

Hello!
Excel and Word came back to life after I deleted preferences in the
library folder. I have not tested everything, but I hope Office 2004
will work as before. Thanks for your help!

I had the same problem. Finally got it to open by opening Excel Chart
Gallery and then opening an existing spreadsheet. Now it works!

By-the-the-way, I am using OS 10.5. Once you get Excel to open, there are no
more problems getting it to open.
