When I write a decimal number, there is a comma instead of a point.
How do I change the general format to points? I have 2004 version. I
have tried changing languages and it doesn't work.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot,
Nat

XL takes its decimal point and thousands separator settings from the
MacOS system. Choose System Preferences... from the Apple menu, and
change the number setting in the International  pane.

JE Mc Gimpsey, the problem is not in the international panel of MacOs system. I have configured my preferences which are used by Numbers with no problem and are not recognized by Excel furthermore, there is no panel, in Excel for Mac, preferences to change or modify these settings. eg: The monetary sign. I am stuck with the Euro sign for spanish of Spain. I need the peso sign for Latin spanish.
All these features worked very well in my old IBook G4, I recently got a MacBook with Leopard and have found some glitches (and advantages).

I'm having the same problem, after installing Excel on an MacBook with Mac OS X.5 (spanish version-Latin America). Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks
