'Drag fill hndle, down'; doesn't work ?

I have entered the first, (really simple), line.  Upon dragging the fill
hndle, the row gets duplicated, & formulas do not step the cell-ID's. ?

What's my error?

I'm sure you understand what you're talking about, but it's not clear to
me.

What "really simple" line did you enter?

What formula are you trying to step?

It sounds to me like your "formula" actually *isn't* one - at least not as
far as Excel is concerned... Did you precede the expression with an = ?

If that isn't the problem you'll need to provide a more accurate description
of the situation including Office & OS X versions as well as exactly how the
expression is written.
