Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this spreadsheet
that I am trying to use to access stock information.

The spreadsheet accesses/grabs the info from msn Money and then pulls
it into the spreadsheet once you type in the "ticker symbol" into the
appropriate cell.  I have tried it from my PC computer at work, so I
know it does work, but when I try it on my version of Excel on my
macbook, it doesn't work.

Here is the page/forum that I downloaded the excel worksheet from:

http://www.roicommunity.com/uploaded/mos_calc110.xls

I couldn't quite understand why it wasn't working on my mac other than
the fact that it was probably made on a PC...but is there an easy fix?

On my mac it takes 2 steps,
1. Enter the ticker symbol on -main- sheet
2. Click the "refresh data" button ( ! ) on the Quote sheet.

I don't know why it would be automatic on the PC version but I'm never
surprised to see Microsoft apps having PC/Mac incompatibilities :-)

where is the "refresh data (!) button" on the sheet?  Does it matter
if I have an educational version of excel?

Click on the "Quote" tab at the bottom (4th from left).
If you click on any cell in the range A1:H41, you may see a floating
window with a bunch of icons on it (see linked picture)
http://homepage.mac.com/jdilger/Excel/ExternalDataToolbar.jpg
Or, the toolbar could be docked somewhere.

If you don't see this toolbar, do
View > Toolbars > External Data
Click on the 4th icon (exclamation point).
Hope this does the trick for you!

Ok, I found an easier way.
No matter which tab (worksheet) you are in, you can view the "External
Data" Toolbar. Click the 6th button on the toolbar (refresh all).
