I'm new to the whole excel thing and I am trying to download a manual so I
can read thru it at my leisure, but I'm unable to find anything.  Am I
searching in vain?

You might also try using the manual you did not know you had.  Go to project
Gallery from the file menu, and click on the learn tab. Select Discovering
Office and look at the third chapter.

I was excited to get your reply, but my file menu has nothing on it regarding
project Gallery.  I have excel 2003, if that makes a difference.  If you have
any other ideas I'd be thrilled to read :) otherwise thanks for the effort
regardless.

Since you posted in a Mac XL newsgroup (hence the .mac. in the newsgroup
name), you got an answer specific to Mac XL.

AFAIK, there's no one manual you can download, but there are thousands
and thousands of web sites with XL information. You can Google for them.

If you want an off-line resource, I'd suggest checking out a book from
your local library.
