Is it my imagination or did the 11.3.7 update actually correct a
long-standing issue with the MRU?
I finally got around to updating & find that I can now launch Excel, change
nothing, Quit, & when I re-launch the MRU is still intact!

Since I always use a macro to load the MRU on startup, I hadn't noticed
this, but it does appear to be fixed.

I'm not so sure. I just lost my MRU today. It possibly happened before the
upgrade and I hadn't noticed. (But, maybe it is OK now, I just tested and
the MRU is retained.)

Yep, I concur, now missing for me too. In my testing, I opened Excel and
then checked the file menu to see if the MRU was there. It was. Apparently
this is enough to avoid the bug. If excel is opened and then closed without
doing anything, the MRU is gone.

For all of those readers who may have been as confused as I was about
this exchange, MRU seems to stand for "most recently used" - the list
of recently opened files that appears at the bottom of the File menu
items.
