Can you set a password for the end user to safeguard opening an excel
file from several others users?

I know you can set a password for an excel file to OPEN or MODIFY, but
does the security hold the same when the user (via email or a company
network)  looks at it?

Please help!

Thank you.

Hi,

If you use the password option in the File > Save As > Options dialog box
the resulting file will require the password to open it no matter where it
resides or how it is distributed.

Keep in mind that such a password is low security (easily defeated). More
secure passwords are available using wrappers such as StuffIt from Allume.
