Hi there

Excel (Office v X) crashes repeatedly when I go to Format>Cells...

Uninstalled Office and Reinstalled - Still crashes at
"Format>Cells..."

Any ideas how to sort this out?

I have a sneaking suspicion it might be to do with fonts - I removed a
pile of fonts a while back.

Thanks

Mark

The sneaking suspic proved to be true

I've found the problem - I tried turning on some of the foreign
language fonts that I had disabled - specifically AppleGothic and the
problem seems to have been resolved.

Thanks again

Mark

Did you reapply the Office updates after reinstalling?

As far as the fonts, that could be a problem as there are some that are
required by Office & some required by OS X. It depends on what fonts folder
you removed them from and what fonts you removed - the Office fonts should
have been taken care of by the reinstallation, but if you removed fonts from
anywhere else they remain among the missing. For future reference, if you
use Font Book to manage fonts it won't remove or disable those that are
required by OS X.

Depending on version of OS X (I'm assuming 10.4.x) have a look here:
