Error message when opening an Excel (and Word) document.

Dear all:

I have been experiencing a problem with Excel everytime I try to open a
file. Whenever I double-click on an Excel document the application begins to
load and when the document would be about to open an error message is
displayed.

The message says:

" An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework
Library. "

I will also try to post an image of the message here in JPEG format although
I am not sure this newsgroup supports images.

After this happens I click on the OK button that appears with the message
and Excel opens but the document doesn't. Then I double-click again on the
same document and this time it opens. This same behavior applies to Word and
Word documents.

Any ideas of what may be causing this to happen ?

I am running the latest version of Office (11.3.5) and the latest version of
OS X (10.4.10).

Bob:

My apologies. I tried one forum first but couldn't see any answers. Then I
decided to send to two different forums but as I did it I realized I
couldn't see any answers and couldn't see my own post either.

After reading CyberTaz's post about attachment I then realized my original
post wasn't going through as I had included an image attachment with the
screen capture of the message I received in Word and Excel.

Again, my apologies for the double post.
