A strategic partner who just switched to Vista sent us excel files
with a new weird ".xlsx" and my Mac can't open.

Thanks,

Hello, they cannot at this moment - it's new office 2007 format. We are
awaiting converter any day in order to be able to open it on Mac. The only
way is to re-save it in ordinary excel nformat. The xlsx is optional - in
office 2007 the partner should be still able to save is as xls. Ask him/her
to save it in xls format rather than xlsx.
