Hi,

I'm just starting to get to grips with Excel operating in the Mac OS X
environment on an Intel based Macbook. This is my first foray into the
world of the Mac, after many years using Windows.

A few questions.

Can anyone point me to a site which explains some of the differences
between MS and OS X, Excel.
e.g.
1. What's the equivalent of the F11 key to open up the VBE
2. How do I change the font size in the VBE Projects and Properties
windows, and why is the default font so small.

No doubt I'll have many more over the coming months.

Usual TIA

The default key combo in WinXL is ALT-F11. The equivalent Opt-F11 (the
Opt key is also labeled Alt on some keyboards) works on Macs.

Like most MacXL commands, you can change the keyboard shortcut to nearly
any other combination using Tools/Customize/Customize Keyboard. The
command to assign your combo to is "Visual Basic Editor" under the "All
Commands" or "Tools" categories.

AFAIK, there's no way to change the default font sizes. Personally, I'd
like them a bit smaller, so that I could see more in each window, but
that's a purely personal preference, I know.

As for why the font size is what it is, I've no idea - some anonymous
design decision back in the depths of time, I suppose.

PMFJI,

But you can change the font and font size used in the VBE.  While in VBE
just go to Preferences then Editor format.

Doesn't that just change the font used in the module windows? I don't
think that changes the font size in the Projects and Properties
windows...or am I misunderstanding something?

Yep, you're right. I missed the fact that the problem was the project and
properties windows.
