Is there a way to have the tool bars in the the excel window, like the
MS Windows version of excel?  For example, if you have 2 sheets open,
instead of sharing the tool bar, could we have the tool bars inside the
window.  So when I close or minimize the window, the tool bars go with
it?

I tried googling for this answer but a search on "window toolbar mac
excel" brings up a lot of other stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Perhaps it's just the terminology, but I'm not clear on what you are
describing - what versions of Mac OS, Windows & Excel (on each) would be
helpful. If I'm guessing right this may what you're looking for:

The toolbars in PC Excel stay right where you put them within the workbook
window regardless of whether you have more than one workbook (file) open or
not & regardless of whether those workbook windows are Minimized, Maximized,
or somewhere in between. However, the toolbars *do* go with it if you
Minimize the Excel Application Window.

Mac OS doesn't use the same GUI as Windows, so what you are probably
"Minimizing" or closing are the workbook (file) windows. The Excel
Application window is still active so the toolbars are still visible... As
is the Excel Menu Bar, and the program application window on a Mac doesn't
minimize the way a Windows application window does.

If you switch to a different program or the Finder the Excel Menu Bar &
toolbars will disappear automatically until you activate them (bring them to
the front) again. You can also go to the Excel menu, itself, & choose Hide
Excel. Either way you can reactivate the program by using Cmd+Tab to toggle
through all open windows.

Am I close?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, you did understand what i was asking.  I
guess, as you said, it is just the difference between GUIs.  I'll just
have to live with it.
