I've recently upgraded my G4 iBook to a MacBook and one of the only
noticeable quirks has been two things to do with Excel.
When I try & open an .xls file that is on the desktop I get the following
error:
The operation could not be completed
An unexpected error occurred (error code - 10660)
Also, when I try open the same documents using the ctrl-click contextual
menu's 'Open with' and then choosing Excel, I get a prompt advising that
"You cannot open Microsoft Excel because it is in the Trash" which I can
certainly confirm is *not* the case:-)
These problems only occur with excel files on the desktop so isn't much of a
problem, but I wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar. Is
this just a Rosetta thing?
Any help appreciated.

Oh, and with just 512MB Ram I'm certainly taking a noticeable performance
hit in Excel because of the Rosetta translation (mmm, 'universal binary
mac:office', methinks that'd be nice Msoft)

DOH! It seems both problems were because the 2004 Office test drive that I
deleted after installing the full mac:office, was still in the trash.
Trash emptied - problem solved.
Thought I'd post in case anyone has similar thing.
