I navigate from cell to cell with the keyboard arrow keys. What
keyboard shortcut/command can I use to activate/place the cursor in the
formula bar, so I can then navigate through text in the formula bar
using the arrow keys? (i.e. It is a hassle to take my hand off the
keyboard and grab the mouse to place the cursor in the formula bar).
Thanks.

The only way I know of without adding code is to go to
Excel>Preferences>Edit, remove the check for 'Edit directly in cell', which
will cause Control+U to put you where you want to be.
Down side is that you will _only_ be able to _edit_ in the Formula Bar,
although you will still be able to enter new/replacement content directly
into a cell without having to go to the Formula Bar.
