Hi,

I installed Excel having my keyboard set to Spanish and now the default
currency and number formatting uses dot as thousands separator and
comma(,) as decimal. I have tried to change it, because I need to use
dot(.) as decimal and comma(,) as thousands separator.

I get 1.000,00 and would like to get 1,000.00.

Please help me.

Thanks.

You have to use OS X's System Preferences, under the Apple menu. What you
want is in the International pane, under the Formats tab.

Thank you,

I tried that but when I go back to Excel, nothing happens, I do not
know if it is necessary to reinstall Excel after changing the
preferences in order to get the format I need, do yo know? I am using
Mac OS 10.4 and Excel 2004

Regards,

FV

There's no need to reinstall Excel or even to restart or log out. But
re-launching Excel is required (and is/should be enough). Did you re-launch
Excel once the settings in "International" > "Formats" have been modified?
