I open Eudora and start downloading mail (I've been away, so I've got
400-plus messages coming in...)
Then Eudora puts up an error dialog that says "Mailbox full" (or something
like that). I dismiss, and it puts up another one. And another one, and...
I can't sit here and dismiss every error. I know which mailbox is full, but
Eudora won't let me open it and do maintenance on it (move some messages out
of the mailbox); it's too busy putting up those damn error dialogs. If I
force-quit Eudora, that creates other problems (corrupts the TofC in any open
mailbox), and even if I did, I can't fix the problem outside of Eudora.
I think Eudora has downloaded all the messages into a buffer (is this how it
works?) and puts up the error message during its sorting process, which takes
quite a long time.
How can I get out of this silly loop? I just want to create a new mailbox so
I can get on with my e-mail life !

Please, no "Go Google this" replies. I wouldn't
ask a question here if I hadn't done that already.

Start Eudora in off-line mode or without a net connection, do your
maintenance.
