Why does Eudora need to be online when I search in mailboxes on an
IMAP-server? The content of the IMAP-mailboxes are all cached locally,
on my HD. Any fix for this?

I think maybe you're our resident expert on IMAP. :-(

Eudora's IMAP search sends a Search query to the server, which then does
the search and returns the list of matching messages.
By contrast, Apple Mail can only do a search of IMAP mail if you have
set it to cache the mail locally, and the search is done locally on the
Mac.
It turns out that Novell Groupwise's IMAP server does not like the
search queries that Eudora sends, and returns an error every time.
Therefore I cannot search my Groupwise mail. :-(
It's a shame Eudora does not handle it the same way as Mail, especially
since Groupwise's search is glacially slow and Eudora's is so fast.
Cheers
David
