Good evening,
I was wondering why eudora doesn't allow for seperate smtp and pop
logins like entourage or Outlook.  Wouldn't that be easier than having
to do personalities?  Also, is there talk of  incorporating something to
allow eudora users to view html mail?

Thanks

Tom

If I understand what you are asking, I thought it did. There are
separate places for SMTP server and POP server in the "Settings..." ->
"Hosts" panel.

One thing about Eudora's settings is that there are many, many panels
and many many settings available via the x-eudora-setting mechanism.
They may not be the easiest to find...

Good afternoon and thanks for taking the time to reply.  What is
x-eudora-settings and how would I access it?  What I meant to ask was that my
isp requires seperate login pop and smtp when I am not at home and using that
smtp server to send mail.  As of now I have my dominant personality to check
mail, but have to set up a personality to send mail so the server actually sees
me logging in.  Sorry if this is confusing..but my head is swimming tyring to
learn the mac.

This sounds like all you need is SMTP authorization. There are several
places in the Settings where you can set this. The easiest is in the
Sending Mail pane. Beneath the space where you give the name of the SMTP
Server, there's a checkbox for Allow authorization. Click in this box,
and you should be all set.

Actually it does. It's in the Getting Started panel of the settings :
Checking Mail --> Mail Server [POP]
Sending Mail --> SMTP server [SMTP]

Which version of E. do you use ?

Personnalities is a commodity that allows fast change and multiple
account checking. You are not obliged to use it if you prefer change
manually each time you have to do it.

You can view simple html mail directly, or others with the "Open in
Browser" function (for me I've just a shortkey to do that).

Good evening and thanks for taking the time to reply.  I know that in
getting started I can fix those servers but it doesn't send the password
for the smtp server; especially if I have to use a different one than my
isp gives.  I am using eudora 6.1 and thanks all for the open in browser
help.

To view html mail, use File | Open in browser. :-)
