Is there any kind of logfile for filters? I'm having trouble with my
spam filters and can't figure out why some non-spam emails are being
detected as spam.

You can enable filter logging in the prefs assuming you have the
Esoteric Settings (or SuperSleek) plug-in enabled. Also, if you select a
message and hold the Shift key while opening the Filters window, it will
list all filters that would be (not were, but would be) triggered by
that message.
