Junk Mail/E6

Another annoyance I'm having is that emails from my sister are
consistently parking in the Junk folder.

I've marked each and every one as "Not Junk" ... for the past two months
now.

It's worked for all my other msgs ... but not my sister's email.

I'm not sure how the Junk filter works - does it check an RBL somewhere?
Can't think of any other reason for her msgs being consistently (100%)
junked!

Thoughts?

Thanks

DCK

Have you set the option in preferences to add "Not junked" people to
your address book?

Thanks, Andrew

She's already in my address book ...

To answer your question, the option is checked to "Not Junk" addresses
already in my address book. The option is NOT checked to add "Not
Junked" people to the address book.

I've been using this setting for a couple of months now and the Junk
filter is working as it should ... after a few Not Junk's, emails are
going to the Inbox as they should.

It's just this one sender (my sister) whose emails are stubbornly
refusing to avoid the Junk mailbox ... verrrry puzzling.

Try this, just in case.

Andrew

I made the change that you suggested ... not sure how long it takes for
the change to 'take effect', but my sisters msgs are still going to the
Junk mailbox.

Regarding the Junk folder behavior, can someone tell me if junked mail
must stay in the junk folder for any period of time or if it can be
erased to the trash immediately after being junked?

Yes, just go ahead and trash it - I do that all the time.

It can be erased completely, either manually or through the automatic
trimming process.

There is a check box: "Hold junked mail in Junk mailbox".
If unchecked it goes directly to the Trash mailbox.

I have mine set to trash messages after 24 hours in the Junk mailbox.
I still look once a day for junked mail that shouldn't have
been junked.  That is becoming increasingly rare.
